After announcing his resignation on twitter in the wee hours of yesterday, the former Ajax midfielder has turned in his resignation letter, which was addressed to General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mohammed Sanusi, and dated February 25, 2016.
“Your contractual violations and the interest
of the nation necessitates that I tender my resignation and recourse to the
termination of our working agreement,” the resignation letter read in part.
A rented apartment in Abuja promised
he and his two assistants after he was appointed in July 2015 has yet to be
fulfilled. He is also owed four months’ salary, while his assistants are also
being owed for several months.
He further accused the Nigeria Football
Federation (NFF) of not giving him enough support to prepare the team for next

qualifying group leaders Egypt.
He said he received “so little help” from the
NFF and has been soldering on under “unconducive working conditions”.
